Get ready to feel all the warm fuzzies, you know, like only newborn babies can make you feel. In February, I met Kelly and Patrick at Michigan State’s campus to take their maternity photos, you can take a peek at those here. One month later, Kelly text me and said their little guy had arrived! We decided on a time and I was over to their house the very next day to meet him. Boy oh boy, is he a sweetheart. I mean, just look at him! You never quite know what to expect during a newborn session and prepare to go with the flow, but he was a little rockstar. He just wanted to snuggle up with mom and dad and slept the entire time I was there, we couldn’t manage to get one single photo with his eyes open!
These first few photos of quiet moments as a family in the nursery are some of my favorite ones from their session. A big reason I always urge clients to do newborn sessions – or let’s be honest, ALL sessions, in their home is that no studio or other location captures moments in life better. A home is where the memories are made, and it makes my heart full to help capture them. And a nursery in particular, they only stay little for so long before their rooms are re-done. How special to be able to look back on this sweet season of life and remember exactly how you felt holding your little one and adjusting to life as three.
Alright, I’m done getting a little mushy over newborns. On to the good stuff. Enjoy!
