Confetti covered bridals in New Orleans

Traveling is something that never fails to make me happy and fill my soul. I would take a trip or an experience over buying a material object any day. There is so much magic in traveling. Seeing the world, experiencing new culture, meeting new people, and making memories along the way. That’s the good stuff.

My husband and I recently road tripped to New Orleans, a whopping 16 hour car ride! On both the drive there and back, we made Nashville, Tennessee our halfway point. We toured the Johnny Cash museum, listened to live country music as we ate our dinner on a second story balcony overlooking Broadway, and ended the night playing pinball at an arcade. Okay, it was a bar with arcade games. A “bar-cade.” If you are ever passing through, make the stop! It’s called HQ and is awesome. Unlike other arcade bars I’ve been to, these ones were all free. Plus, they were playing Back to the Future.

Once we made it to New Orleans, we did all the things you just have to do if you visit! We toured Mardi Gras World, bar hopped on Frenchman Street listening to live music, found that our favorite place was The Spotted Cat, ate on another second story balcony over looking Bourbon Street which proved to be the BEST people-watching spot, wandered the French Quarter and Jefferson Square, got a poem about our dog from a street artist (yes, really), and of course ate beignets from Cafe Du Monde.

And somehow between all our fun, I managed to coordinate and host a styled bridal photo shoot with some of the most amazing creatives in New Orleans! It can be tough having a vision of what you want to create and actually making it happen, but when you do, oh goodness. It’s the best feeling. Thank you to everyone who collaborated with me to bring my vision to life.
