I'm a wife to my high school sweetheart and mama to our baby boy, Andrew, and one sweet rescue pup named Mia. I've been photographing for as long as I can remember, from disposables as a kid, a point and shoot during my teens, and getting my first "real" camera as a graduation gift from my mom. I also really love shooting on my film camera! I was well into a marketing career before I began my business, but looking back, the signs were always there. I feel most myself with my camera in hand. When I say I love my job, I truly mean I am crazy in LOVE with my job.
My family is the most important thing, but I also really love tacos, a good Netflix series, puzzles, cruising around town with Drew on our ebike, Christmastime, trips to Target, genuine connection, and of course, photographing the happiest of moments.
My approach is very relaxed and natural. Clients have described my style as "candid" and "true to life." While I will gently direct you so we have the best light, or give you an action to spark emotion, we will never do any cheesy prom poses. (Pinky promise.) I'm more interested in capturing the real you!
Of course I'll capture all the important group shots and family portraits to be treasured for years to come, but the unplanned, candid moments that happen all on their own is where the real magic is. That's the really good, real life stuff that fills our hearts with joy.
If you're not a fan of being in front of the camera, or have never had professional photos taken, this paragraph is for you my friend.
Stepping in front of the camera can be an awkward feeling, I get it! Nearly every couple comes to me very excited to work together, but usually with the same hesitation: "We've never had our pictures taken before, we're a little nervous!" I hear this over and over, and I promise you, I will do everything I can to help ease that feeling. I'll play your favorite music, joke around, and even grab a drink with you before our session if we need to ;) It is my goal for you feel comfortable and confident so your truest self shines through!
