New York City is a magical place as it is, but when you get married in a gorgeous industrial-style loft and dance the night away on the rooftop, that takes the cake! Prepare your eyes to turn into heart emojis. This October New York City wedding day was just beautiful from start to finish!
It started at a beautiful Manhattan townhouse where all the family, bridesmaids, and groomsmen got ready together. An overwhelming sense of excitement filled the house as the bride got her final makeup touches done and slipped into her golden Lovely Bride gown. Meanwhile downstairs the groom and his best friends took a lap around the block celebrating with a group of Texas tourists they met during groomsmen portraits.
The first look
Their first look took place down the block from the iconic Friends apartment building, but I swear, all eyes of those passing by were glued to them as they saw each other for the first time that day.
Rose petals covered the aisle leading to large windows filling the room with views of the city. With a ceremony like theirs, you couldn’t help but ride the rollercoaster of emotions. Between handwritten vows and their sweet pups Brunch and Babushka being in the wedding party, it was so personal. Guests were laughing one minute and in tears, the next, followed by cheers and clapping after being announced as husband and wife!
Dancing the night away
A second bar opened on the rooftop and the DJ was bringing people to the dancefloor. The sun began to go down and city lights started to twinkle. From that moment on, it was party time and boy did people party!
Thank you, Michael and Caitlin, for bringing me to New York City to document your wedding day. You two are so kind and loving and it was truly an honor to watch your day unfold. I wish you two nothing but happiness in the years ahead! Congratulations!!
PS. While I primarily photograph Buffalo, NY weddings, I do take a select amount of New York City weddings each year. Interested in bringing me to the city with you? Let’s talk and make it happen!
